The most common symptom of bladder cancer is blood in the urine. The color may range from slight pink to rusty or bright red. Small amounts of blood may not be seen at all, and may only be picked up when testing the urine. The bleeding may be present sporadically or constantly. As many other less sinister things can also cause blood in the urine, it is important to seek medical help and find the cause of this symptom. Other symptoms associated with bladder cancer are: * Pain during urination * Frequent urination * Feeling the need to pass urine but being unable to do so * Flank pain or pelvic discomfort * Unexplained weight loss

How scary is this! I have Interstitial Cystitis, which has basically the symptoms you listed here. However, there is no difficulty to urinate..in fact it is quite opposite. However, in the past month I have started experiencing that problem. Now I have every single symptom that is listed here for bladder cancer. I guess I should make a trip back to my urologist after reading this. Thanks.

Symptoms of Bladder Cancer: The symptoms for bladder cancer are not specific. Many other diseases, including inflammatory conditions, involving the bladder and kidney may cause similar symptoms. However, since early detection is important in curing bladder cancer, if you have these symptoms, you should bring them to the attention of your doctor. The most common first symptom of bladder cancer is blood in the urine called hematuria. Hematuria is either visible or microscopic. Gross hematuria describes urine that appears red or brown and can be seen with the naked eye Microscopic hematuria means the red blood cells are visible if a urine sample is examined under a microscope Irritative urination symptoms may also be associated with bladder cancer and include: pain and burning on urination, a sense of incomplete emptying of the bladder after urination and having to urinate more frequently or at shorter intervals.
