What percentage of population worldwide smokes?

Just wondering what percentage of population in the world smokes........ ?
And another interesting thing is what percentage of medical population (doctors) smokes .......?

I'm not sure about world wide (I'm still looking) but I found this information about the US:
Percentage of US population who smoke: 22%

That site even breaks down the population by state.
Unfortunately, I can't find anything for India, percentage-wise. I'm going to keep looking (because this is an interesting topic!) and I'll let you know what I come across. :)
