my 6m old kitten keeps pooping in my baby's room

I have a 6m old kitten, who is litter box trained but in the last 2 months or so she has just started pooping and peeing under my 6m old son's crib.... she is litter box trained and uses it as well last week we just had her fixed.. but she did it again last night.. I dont know what to do.. I keep the door closed as much as I can and she doesnt seem to pee anywhere else.. well she did pee under the christmas tree, on a gift.. but i just dont know what to do. my daughter wants a pet we would love to have a dog.. but being a stay at home mom of a 5 year old and a 6m old Im not ready to care for a puppy.. and I thought a cat woul dbe good becuase they are lower maintance.. but Milkshake is proving me wrong.. any suggestions would be great.. thanmks

Thank you, Im gonna check them out here in a second.. I am totally at a loss for what to do .. she has even gone as far as pooping in his crib.. We love the cat..but man...But again thank you for the links.
