Low Carb vs Low GI Diet

As most of you in the forum would know by now am a qualified weight loss consultant and am only 4 months away from graduating from my naturopathy degree. I believe that the low carb diet (such as the Atkins, South Beach, Carbohdrate Addicts Diet) etc are all great plans for the short term. It gives quick weight loss but the nutrition is generally not great as it does not include all food groups. However, with the low GI diet, all food groups are included and therefore I think it is a healthier long term plan. Is anybody on either of these plans and how do you feel?

I am on the low carb diet however I have noticed that if I also include some low carb veggies that I feel better too. I think I just use the Atkins diet as an example then I make my own plan up more or less.

I use a combination of Low Carb and Low GI to control my blood sugar and help with weight loss. I've tried Atkins, South Beach, and Low GI and feel about the same regardless. It works best for me if I use what I call Denise's WOE (Way of Eating) rather than a particular plan but as long as I limit those carbs I feel great!
