Breast Cancer and Alcohol...

I've been reading lately that alcohol has been shown to contribut to the causes of breast cancer. I just had my tumor removed right before Thanksgiving, and the dr. never told me not to drink any alcohol. Of course, I was never told to stop taking birth control, and I did that. Should I not drink alcohol any more?
