Which one is Safer Windows?

linux is safer than windows ,but is it easy to work like windows ,windows is a user friendly os even a new person can operate ,but linux is really hard to understand not not like windows ..we can have many protuction in windows to make it safer

Yes,i agree with you. Windows is less secure,but u have to consider that it has the 90% of the market. Linux is more secure than Windows because it has less market than Windows (2/3%,i guess). We'll wait for Vista to make some conclusions. Cheerz

Linux is more secure because most of the viruses out there are for Windows

Base on my experience linux is better than any operating system. it has unique features than others. i like linux too.

well i think that the LINUX is the best and safer windwos to use from becuase it stop and virus entring from internet as well

I think windows has good features but totally insecured, If u r updating the patches regularly then you can rely on windows. Secondly the hardware compatibility (HCL) list is very high in windows, it supports almost all the computer hardwares. But security is the only concern. Incase of Linux it is highly secured and best performance, but user interface and hcl is the not much. Mac, I don't have any opinion bcoz, I have still not worked on it.

yeah u r rigth its linux the safest OS till now , but not understood by hoem users ! so next generation will be of linux only

If I were you, I would go with the Mac. Mac is stable and it's a good os without viruses.

I'd have to agree with most of the people here. I have been a PC user since the very early 90's and finally just got so fed up with all the crap. I needed a Mac also because I'm a music maker and it's just better for the arts. Macs are totally dependable and WAY less prone to viruses. Especially if you use OS X... I think there's only ever been one, lame virus (if any) that's been able to get into the OS X system. I've never used Linux but I have heard it is the most secure. I would recommend a Mac as it has the best of both worlds, especially since you can run Windows and hence PC programs on Macs now. Get a Mac and you won't go back!
