Do you often choose not to follow up on a discussion you responded too?

Because you can't find your post and it take forever to find it just to see if someone has commented on your response? Perhaps there are hundreds of responses now and it will just take way too long to go through the pages of responses to try and find yours? I find it frustrating. Please don't just say yes or no. What do you think about it? Should myLot add a feature to make it easier to jump to your response in a discussion so you can see if anyone has commented on it? I do.

I would love something like that. What would be even better is if you got an email notice like you can when someone responds to one of your discussions. That way you don't have to go and look you'd know right off if someone did make a comment. I know there have been times I've had to search and search to try and find my post and then find it only to have no response made to it.

Sometimes I wonder if we shouted loud enough they might hear us. I spend so much time scanning through discussion and list of discussions looking for my responses or sometimes even just looking for a discussion. Often the search fails. Maybe that is as much our fault for bad tags. We are hoping it will get better.

PS
I'm just wondering- does anyone know if MyLot actually reads these discussions and is aware of our suggestions? Or do they need to be e-mailed to them directly? It would be a shame to come up with good ideas and have them lost in with all of the useless stuff on this site.

I would love such an option! I do try to get back to the posts I have responded to to see if anyone may have a question or if there is more I need to offer...I have no doubt that I miss a great many of my own replies when scanning through...
I am not sure if it is feasible though with so many members and so many postsand responses to have such a feature. I suppose it depends on what the format of the forum will allow.

I have the same complaint. Like you, I like to follow up on my own discussions as well as check for comments on what I posted in other discussions- this is the only way to keep discussions going and to encourage the exchange of ideas. With a good discussion, it seems that you can waste a of time trying to find your response; sometimes people slip in a comment and you never find it, and they think that you just don't care. MyLot should find a way to search just for "my responses to discussions" so that those of us who wanted to actually discuss something could do so. Great point!

If there are hundreds of posts, it's very hard to find my comment sometimes.. so it makes it difficult to go back and see if anybody replied. It would be nice if you could go directly to your comment, instead of just to the thread itself. You know?

i'm with you..it will be good if we could have a better way of finding our response in a discussion with more than 5 pages. i do refer back, but when i saw that there are 5 pages, i tend to skip that discussion altogether :p

Not me. I spend forever going through discussions page by page checking for my response or comment. Sometime I use the dates to try and get an idea if I am even close and I might try jumping a few pages or going to the last page and working my way back instead of going all the way through from the beginning. Again, it takes so much time that I could be spending posting or playing games on Moola! *sigh*

I've noticed that mylot doesn't seem to have a very good search function. I can look through all the posts I've commented on, but some of them have pages of responses! Eventually I just kind of gave up on trying to keep track.
I also find that if you respond to a response - it stops there. There isn't really a chance for ongoing discussion in any meaningful sense.
