So far the most annoying thing about myLot for me is that I get these people answering my discussions as if I am asking a stupid question deserving a stupid answer. Like I started a discussion about cats having emotions. Of course they do, but it was a rhetorical question, not a dolt wanting to know for the first time in life. Come on people, the fact that we can all even turn on a computer says something about our intelligence level, does it not? Don't talk down to me. If I ask you a question here, it's most likely rhetorical and I just want to know your opinion. That's what DISCUSSION is about. If I want your help on a problem I would most like say PLEASE. Otherwise, just give your opinion. I assume that almost everyone here is asking for discussion opinions, otherwise they have terribly desperate pleas attached to their questions. My plea is only this: Treat me like the intelligent persons that we both are. Don't assume that I am asking a stupid question and therefore give me a stupid answer. I think that if I have to give a stupid answer it's not worth it to me to get into that particular conversation. Get it?

I get you completely. For me that's not the most annoying thing, it's mostly people asking meaningless questions like "do you like pizza" or "what's your favourite colour" or "what's my date of birth date" (seriously, it's a question I came across, worded exactly like that).
Or people who add responses or comments that are either off topic or complete jibberish.
I do believe that you are right, most people who want help or information will come out and ask for it. Obviously if you start a topic with more than a few sentences you know what you are talking about.
It might be easier for those few people who "don't get it" if you add a "What do you think?" or a "tell me your opinion." I know that it might be redundant, but as you say, some people just don't get it!

I have just begun here and I agree totally. What I am not clear about is if you get too much of that jibberish and stupid answers, do they delete your entire discussion? Haven't seen it yet in mine, but wasn't sure.
I don't respond to short jibberish, or mundane questions. Only something that will get me going with more than a few sentences.I also add at the end of each question what I personally think about the question, and ask "and you?".

You obviously have been a menber here for awhile now.You have read some of the sensless, useless questions some people have posted. You CARE about what people respond with. Many people just don't get it as long as they get SOME response. That is one of the main problems with MyLot:people not caring for quality, just quantity. My question......how do we stop it?

I agree with all of you here. Do not respond to their comments, discussions, or opinions. When you respond. It will make them feel important and add more comments, which eventually will lead to more discussions.
Please do help out in clearing out MyLot. I have not been here long but so far all I can see are a lot of non-sense questions that are replied by the majority of members. I try to avoid these types as they are mostly for the money, not for the discussion. Please do the same.

it might sound a bit rude but there is no need to generalise the whole issue..every person has his/her own unique way of answering a question and its quite possible that it might not be to ur likings..but as u just said its most likely their opinion and treat it in that sense only..agreed that some responses might be very bad but isn't that a very small proportion..just take it as it coes and life would be so much simple..hopefully its makes sense to u..keep smiling and don't bother too much..

Don't expect everyone to respond the way you wanted it to be.. people differ from each other.. people tend to be serious while others are not.

actually what i feel is that there should be a moderator in mylot who denies the posting of silly and repeating things. but in that case it will take some time for your question to be answered by others. please friends do post good and quality discussions.

you're completely right. but you shouldn't care about what others are missjudging you. i am sure that you're an intelligent person that deserves all the respect just like anyone else in here. just try to calm down and don't pay attention:)

Don't be so sensitive. People resspond from many different perspectives and attitudes. If you are not thrilled with an answer, just move on. Some responses are well though out, some half thought out and some just fly off the finger tips.

umm.. well its really like that people may not have any opinion on the topic you started and have never thought anything about it.. so when they open your discussion and hit the replybutton they have nothing to write and that is when they simply write something to finish the post and make a point on mylot here.

Oh,has what you said really happened? I have read the disucussion on the cats having emotions you started, and I gave a response to it because I think it is a good topic I am interested in. I like animals, and have two dogglets, one cat,and two goldfishes in my house.
I don't know why there are some unfriendly reponses to that disscussion. Maybe some of them think the content of the discussion is too short, which make them regard it as an abuse. Also I think those responses may be an abuse themselves!
In my opinion,we can start any disscusions we are interested in or wanna to get an answer. If the readers have no interest on this topic or dislike it,I hope they give no response, and need not to give some unfriendly responses.
My friend, take it easy! have a good day!!

From only two days i am registered with mylot. There are very meaningless topics and meaningless (no logic) discussions online without any concept. We need to make healthy and intelligent discussions

well its an open discussion community do not expect that all the answers to your discussion is of your liking or taste. i you really feel offended about ones response then report as an abuse otherwise you are at a lost for fuming or getting annoyed for such responses. greetings. : )

waitwaitwait, cats have emotions?? No way, this is news to me, when did that happen?? Please don't think me stupid in my reply, as intelligent to intelligent I suspect you know I'm just havin' fun lol
I have from time to time answered a few discussions with a sense of humor like this one but if I answered one of yours like that and you took offense to it I apologize. I for one think the only stupid question is the one that goes unasked and though I may find an occasional few straying into the bizarre I will always answer with the best of my knowledge and maybe a joke or two ;-)
Keep up the good work and don't let the silly replies get you down, for every nugget of sarcasm there will be a gem of knowledge worth holding onto as an acceptable answer lol

:-) Thanks so much for your humour. It's not that kind of humour I was talking about. It's the ones who said things like "Of course cats have emotions..." like I had just fallen off the turnip truck. That I do not appreciate. I love your sense of humour. Be my friend?

Stupid people are everywhere, and they want to persuade you to their way of thinking instead of just sharing their insights. The other stupid people answer your rhetorical question about cats with a comment to the effect that "I love my wife, but she has to know I love my job, too." Not even remotely related to the discussion. The other reason to reply that way is just to get credit for a response. I guess they think they are smart.

Hey, even the morons make us money. Let them answer with their stupid answers. If they're morons, don't bother reciprocating the discussion answering to them. Some people can't help if they're just a little on the ignorant side! lol

I actually fully agree with you (and to answer your question, yes, I get it =P). I think most people are just trying to answer quickly without reading the entire post just to be able to make a quick dollar. I always rate those with -, though, but I'm not quite sure what that will do...
