Heart burn or...

I'm currently 18 years old and recently I have been having this terrible "heart burn." I've had this feeling for a couple years, but it's significantly getting worse. It gets to the point where it feels difficult to breath. So my question is, could this just be some kind of heart burn, or would I have acid reflux or something similar in manor?
