Friggin' flies!!

I have this giant (maybe about the size of a nickel?) fly in my room. It keeps flying from the monitor to my face and scaring the crap out of me. How the hell do I kill it? Everytime I even motion to swat at it, it's in my face, then gone... ARGH!!! If my roommates started effing cleaning up after themselves, we wouldn't have this problem!
