Police verication for pass ports,

A passport was submitted,as a family of three father mother and adult son.The verication was done within the stipulated time, of all three, and the parents, passport has been, received, but the sons passport has not been received till date,(more than four months)Passport officialssay not recd police verification report,
How long can the police take to submit the police verification report, Dont they have a time limit, to send it back to the passport office with in a stipulated time.

Wow, that's a long time. Is there an office that you can call to find out the reason for the delay. Maybe the paper work was lost. I think it might be a good idea to look into what has happened. I think 4 months is a long time to wait for verification.

The powers that be had closed the file for reasons best known to them, after entering into correspondence with the authorities,I was told that the personal perticulars form would have to be freshly filled,no reason for the delay given,infact i was asked the reason for the delay,i was informed by the police that even if all documents are in order a personal interview with the inspector in charge is mandatory prior to obtaining his signature on the form,well i had not come for a police job,but thats how it works they make their own rules we have to follow or face the consequences,
