NPC to review local laws, rules

LEGAL guidelines issued by the Supreme People’s Court and the Procuratorate will have to be reported to the National People’s Congress Standing Committee from now on in a bid to strengthen the rule of law and the role of the constitution. The NPC Standing Committee has also set up a procedure to check local rules and repeal those that violate superseding laws and the constitution if the government departments responsible fail to redress the problems, Xinhua reported Monday.
