Hi Congratulations on getting your kitten! I'm sure you'll find it very amusing with its antics! You should start vaccinations at 2-3 months of age. Starting with the Flu vaccine (1 shot and 1 booster) and onward to Feline Leukemia at the second flu booster. Your kitten may want to be tested against FIV; similar with HIV and if negative, could be vaccinated against that as well.
FIP shots are frowned upon in the States. We still had it here but there's serious debate whether it's really useful against the disease or not. My kittens were vaccinated in the first year but on receiving the 2nd year's booster, I opted out. I lost a kitten to FIP. The poor boy was so young and it was really heartwrenching.
I now have 4 cats between 2-3 years of age. They have been fed with Science Diet from day 1 and touch wood, have never fallen sick. I think there are many premium brands you can offer your kitten. Start them with good premium food and you can see their immune system strengthened.
Good luck!

Awh how sweet, First take it to the vet.. always good to take new kittens strait to the vet before you bring them home to get tested for viruses, and get their vaccinations.. or set up appointments for that.
For young kittens scrambles eggs, and soft cat food I just soak hard cat food in water, that is soft enough for them to start on....Eggs are very good for kittens just do not add pepper or nothing to them cook them as is... - DNatureofDTrain
