War and our involvement

We have come to an age where war is taken to our living room. The media has brought the battlefield with embedded journalists into the most secure part of our habitat...home. So should we be involved in hard talk discussions on the war or events happening all over the world even if we never have heard of the place, its people or country? How far involved should we be. What are the consequences.. what should be the aim of our involvement in any? These are the questions I think "somtimes". Well, in my opinion, we should be involved as the TV is mostly only war, terror, bombings, and harshness. I am scared my childrel will see them. I feel a certain depth of knowledge is necessary since we now live in a closer world but, 24/7 violence is not why I pay the cable guys. I am fed up.. in a sense.
