Where's the line for all of these rules?

Down here in South Carolina, they have banned people from smoking in there own cars at some schools, while they are waiting on their children. This one lady first got a ticket, and later on was arrested because, she would not put it out. I myself do not smoke, but I feel that people should be able to do what ever they want in their own cars. Do you think these laws have began to get a little out of hand?
