FF12 is really the coolest of all the series (FF8 used to be my personal pick).
The gameplay is superb, the gambits makes fighting easier. What's better is, random encounter with enemies is gone. The problem with the way I play it is too much use of MP. I seldom use magicks (Yes, that's how it's spelled in the game) stocked in items. Plus, I had trouble with maximizing the use of the Espers (equivalent to Guardian Force = FF8 or Aeons=FF10).
I'm not into the storyline that much because it's too political and the mushy love story part falls down to 0% (though, it's somewhat okay).
FF7 is probably the most popular, and the movie FF7: Advent Children make sit even more mainstream. Oh well, I'm not really a big fan of FF7.

hehehehe FF8 is cool hehhehe i think you just don't like it because of the mushy things in it but you can just enjoy the mushy things for awhile than destroying enemies hehehe. well anyway it will be a lot of fun if i can crush all the marlboro enemies in just one blow. i hate those enemies

i like FF8 to be remake in PS2 or any console of Play station hehehe

not quite right the most played game world wide i dragon quest series or maybe counter-strike. but what the hell, definetely FF 7, it is the one that give square the recognition from the western gamer.
