I have a jack russell terrior puppy. She is very hyper and playful, however she has a very gentle spirit. And, for some reason, she finds it necessary to drag all her dog food in the living room and eat it one piece at a time all over the floor. Anyone know how to break a dog of that? The pieces are to heavy for my vaccum to pick up so I have to get down and pick them up by hand so my son don't get them.

I never heard of a dog doing that. Perhaps you need to confine her in the bathroom when you feed her. After she eats or doesn't remove her. She will have to be retrained to eat there, or where ever you want her to eat. Or, put her food down, and say no if she drags it out. If she understands, reward her for staying with her dish. Thank you for sharing that.

Two years old my be hard to retrain her. But, if it is a problem, she is going to have to be fed isolated, so she cannot drag the food out. Treat her kindly, and with love and patience. I hope it works out dear.

Thanks for the advice, it has been driving me nuts. I don't know if it is something the breeder allowed her to do or what. She has been doing this since the day we got her, two years ago..okay so she is not technically a puppy...but I will always call her one..hehe :)

we have 3 dogs and I love them all equally. the reason I love them is because they give so much love in return. when you come home they are always at the door to greet you. they are happy to see you no matter what. if you had a down day they lift your spirits and they don`t talk back. lol.

I have four cats, which are well and truly pampered, two boys and two girls. They are part of our family and give us so much comfort, love and companionship. They are very independent which is good as we are both out a lot. We spoilt them rotten and they have both dried and moist food as well as treats like tuna and chicken. We have two long hairs and two short hairs, one's a kitten and she gets up to great mischief and is very playful, when you sit down she comes up and climbs on you and gives you a kiss. I'd much rather have a cat than a relationship ANYDAY! in fact when I'm old I can just imagine myself on my own with a couple of cats, far less work than a partner! And they talk to you in their own special way too (cats not humans!)

I have 2 adult dogs and a puppy. One of the dogs is a black lab, named Anubius. He is 4 years old, but he still acts like a big overgrown puppy. The other dog is a chihuahua, and his name is Charlie. He is 3 years old, and he is spoiled rotten. My puppy is 7 months old, and he is Charlie's son. He is so silly sometimes. By the way, my avatar is a pic of Charlie being pitiful. He gets carried almost everywhere he goes, and he eats more people food than dog food. Anubius and Victor (the puppy) don't get spoiled like that........yet.

I have two cats and a dog, and I love them all. The cats I like better just cuz they're easier to take care of, but they don't give me that unrestrained love that my golden retriever does.

As you probably know from a few of my previous posts, we have had a lot of pets in the past, but since we moved to Tasmania we only have 2 guinea pigs and 3 lop eared bunnies and a budgie. All nice easy pets. The budgie has a lot of free reign of the house and sits on your shoulder a lot of the time. The rabbits and pigs are in hutches (which my husband built) and are more petting zoos than hutches. They are great affectionate little things though and the kids love them.

Hi I have three cats who I love to pieces. I dont have childred so they have become my childred. I know I am crazy. Two of them I got at the pet shelter, they were just kittens. and the other one was a stray I started feeding her. I felt so sorry for her it was getting cold out. So I started bringing her in. Long story short she is now a part of the family. there names are Maggie Molly and Blackie.

I have one dog named Yumi (she's my profile picture), she's part Pit Bull and part German Sherperd. I love her because she's so sweet and loving. I treat her like my baby. She sleeps with me and I jut adore every cute thing she does. :)
I have one other dog named Frodo. He's part Shitzu and Pomeranian (pardon any miss-plelling). I love him because he is really sweet and shows you thathe loves you all the time. He goes out with me a lot too.
And lastly I have a guinea pig named Zelda. She's really cute! I love the little things she does. When I hold her she just sits there and lets me pet her. :D
So that' my pets. I really love them!

I have 6 cats. I love them because they have always been there for me. In my times of need and happiness. I feel that they love me back, even though my own boyfriend thinks I'm crazy for thinking that.

haha...^-^,I like this discussion because I am raising two goldfishes as you know.
I have two dogglets,a cat and two goldfishes! I love them very much, they give me so many fun and can make me recover from frazzle more easily. They have been the members of my familly.
By the way, my goldfish looks a little bad today, and I think I need move them to a larger place because the oxygen is always not enough in that small goldfish bowl.
You have no pets? really?^-^
Have a good time!!

I had a fancy large goldfish that came up to the top of the tank to eat out of my hand, and let me pet it's head. I'm glad that you are so concerned for your son. Congratulations on his birth, and you are such a good mommy.

I don't have any pet, but I like little kittens. They are tender, lovely, and docile. I wish I can have a cat in my dorm someday.

I have no pets.
I really love dogs and cats.
Beacuse breed a pet is not a easy thing in China and I can't breed myself.I really want to find a job but it't very difficult.

My pet is a Doberman who is pampered a lot by my mom. His name is Pluto. He is ferocious when he sees a stranger.
