Recently i read a book called "The little book that beats the market" by Joel Greenbalt. He describes abt return on capital employed as magic value and rank the stocks according to the return. If anyone interested in discuss abt this book. Please reply.

I don't think there is any magic formula. Just invest rightly in good fundamental stock with good records. Eg. Infosys, Dr. Reddy, L&T etc on longterm basis.

ROCE is one of the very good indicator of the management and the business. The ability to make more money on the money you have invested , that is capital employed, shows a strong share holder interest. As said in the other discussion, depending on the risk we are seeking, the investment rules and formula es may change. Investing is more healthy and successful with discipline and right patience.

According to Joel Greenblatt, the magic formula is value investing.

To me, this formula alone cant make the whole value investing.
