i would be friendly to him like if he waves then wave back but don't ignore him if he wants to chat. if you want to just be friends then that is okay. or if you want to stay away (bad break up) then still try to be nice.

You're really gracious! It's good and nice to be able to stay as friends thou, shows that you've already moved on since the breakup and you don't bear any unforgiveness in you =)

I have never stayed in contact with an ex. I think it causes problems for both parties, especially when you and your ex find new partners. The 2 of you still talking can create jealousy. I just think its a bad idea
