Well I have two favorites both based of Taming of the Shrew. Kiss Me Kate, which is a musical and then Ten Things I Hate About You. Both are worth seeing and very funny. Now Mel Gibson's Hamlet was well done. Very good adaptation of the story.
I'm not big on Romeo and Juliet. Maybe because it's so over done. However I do enjoy West Side Story, another musical, but inspired by Romeo and Juliet.

Don't know. I just wonder why the always make movies with Romeo and Juliet and few other Shakespeare's works while he wrote so many ones that would be really good movies.

I think that the Mel Gibson Hamlet was really well done. I too liked 10 Things I Hate About You. There are a lot of teen movies loosely based on Shakespeare. I think She's All That may be too... most of them aren't very good.

i like the adaptations by orson welles and sir laurence olivier. specially, othello by welles and hamlet by sir olivier would count as favourites.
another favourite would be kurosawa's throne of blood, an adaptation of macbeth.
some nice adaptations have been made by vishaal bhardwaj. maqbool (macbeth) and omkara (othello) are both good.

For me there is no best or worse. I didn't like any of them!

I love a Midsummer Nights Dream. It's just so fun and upbeat :) I don't have a worst since I've only seen a few Shakespeare movies.
