Who works harder? Are children of stay at home moms smarter than children whose moms work outside of the home? If you were given a choice, what would you do and why?

I've been in both positions and I have to say that working out of the house and being a mom is a lot tougher. The reason being, if you're having a bad day, sick, etc. and are at home... you can pretty much grab the kids and go to your room, watch a video or tv with them, color, etc. and pretty much take it easy. If you work outside the home you often can't call in sick, have to go to work anyways, etc. I think moms in general have a big job... work at home, stay at home, work outside the home, anything! Either way we're responsible for a huge thing...the future of our world!

If a right connection is secured, stay at home moms are having more advantages than moms work outside home in terms of earning, peace of mind, free from travelling through busy traffic, free from office tension. etc.

I would be a stay-at-home mom. I mostly am right now, I work part-time and my kids are always with one of us. I am not sure if kids are smarter either way. I think it's really hard doing both-just being a mother and balancing life is hard. It can be very hard to work and take care of the kids, and it's also hard to stay at home and not have adult conversation. I have been through both.

I think both work just as hard. I work from home but if I had to work outside of the home I would also. I think as long as your children know that you love them and you spend time with them they will turn out great. I think children of SAHM's or working moms are both smart niether is smarter than the other. It depends on how much time a parent puts aside to help educate their child.

well, there is not much of a comparison, i work just as hard at home as i did when i worked. and the other thing is my work at home never goes away like in the office. i could leave work there and go home. your kids are as smart as you work with them. kids learn all the time and if your talking with them and playing with them, they are learning. they learn of money when you take them to the store. yes, they learn in daycare but ot as much as you show them at home.
