Great Story about a guy who comes to New York and because of War in his country, his visa is revoked. So he ultimately spends nine months living in the airport and doing various things to make money and find food and keep busy. Great Story of how a good person handles being imprisoned. I often feel like a rat in a cage and wonder what to do with myself.

I loved this movie. Tom Hanks plays this roll so well. He is quite believeable and soooo fun to watch. I have shared this movie with alot of people. I have seen it likely ten times and am giving it to my dad along with a few other movies for Christmas. My dad loves Jazz, so the reason Tom Hanks is there is about his dad and Jazz...... Do not want to blow the plot for anyone. The part where he is helping the stranger with the pilpos for his "goat" is too funny. The guy in charge is really funny too. I think the timing is as well done as liar liar was. But I love Tom Hanks and though I have watched Liar Liar quite a few times, The Terminal is a newer favorite. That guy who insists on a person having an appointment before anyone can look at his trash....... And Katherin Beta Jones is funny in this too. Slap stick comedy is mixed in with a heart warming story that does show what the good guys do with a bad situation. The begining of the movie where he is trying to see something on any of the tvs about what is going on in his country, broke my heart. Tom Hanks Is a wonderful actor. Thank you for starting this discussion anybodyhome.

Tom Hanks is an amazing actor and this was an amazing movie. It was funny and sad all at the same time. It was cute how he helped that other guy ask out the girl. Also how easily he seemed to make the airport his temporary home.
It must have been strange to be stuck there when everyone else could come and go at will. I wonder why he never tried to escape? He never seemed to even consider it until that guy planted the idea in his head. Was he that afraid that if he tried to leave, they would kill him? What kind of impression of America did he have before coming here?

It was a really good movie... But for Hanks I would say it was an under performance... rather the movie was not up to his mark where he can show his real piece or distinct acting.... Something like Forrest Gump :)

The story calls for determination. For you to work and live in such situation you must have strong determination and positive outlook in life. I believe when that happens to you, that will make your personality more stronger.

Yeah, even I liked the story. Especially, the funny situations in which Tom Hanks get into. I remember the scene in which, Tom Hanks is shaving and a man comes and gives him a strange look. that was funny. Tom Hanks has done a good job in the movie.
