Will the transfer of Iverson help the Nuggets?

Allen Iverson is a great player but I think his transfer to the Denver Nuggets won't help the team. The Nuggets play is built around 5 guys with Anthony getting the most of the ball. With Iverson around he will have to share the ball and with Iverson getting 20 to 30 shots a game, I don't know how they gonna work it out. While there is no doubting Iverson's talent, he's also a small, poor defender and a guy who has a history of bad relationship with coaches. I don't understand the Nuggets management why they need to acquire Iverson when the team is doing well. Why tinker with the machine when it's working great.

AI is working out great for the Denver Nuggets. The only downer right now is that the nuggets aren't winning. JR will be back soon, but it'll be two weeks before Melo returns. You've heard it from both Melo and AI that they believe they will work well together. I can't wait. I always tell my friends to think of ways to guard Melo, AI, JR smith, and Marcus Camby, and that's only 4 of 5 guys on the court. Then next year, when Kenyon Martin returns, I think this team will be unstoppable. Hell, with Nene in place of Kenyon, I think when we (as in the nuggets) are back at full strength, will go very deep into the playoffs.

Let's see when the playoff comes if they can stand toe to toe with the best in the west. I hope your right, because if they get eliminated early in the playoffs they will get a lot of criticism from their fans for changing their line-up. And about Kenyon Martin, hes a good player but not that good. He can't shoot from outside, he can only rebound and dunk and play some defense. REmember when they played the Lakers in the championship, they taunting him to shoot and he did and he makes like 7 out 20 shooting. And he's also a problem player, somtimes he fights with George Karl if he didnt get his playing time.

I don't think he can help Nuggets much.
As we all see, after AI has joined the Nuggets, they lose more than win!
This is the BEST proof, Right?

I think it will really help the nuggets. Iverson has won 4 scoring titles, I think that will be enough for him. I think he is now focusing on winning a championship and he will do everything in order to fulfill that. When he was in team USA, he proved that he could be a passer and not just a scorer.

Winning a scoring title is easy, the hardest part is winning an NBA title. I hope your right, I hope he'll focus hes attention on winning an NBA title not on fighting with his coach.

i think it will help them because anthony isnt that good but he shoots like eighty times every game so he gets points but with iverson as a complete player will make him better and the team they will pass and play better as a team with him

I dont know how you define a complete player but I disagree with you that AI is a complete player. For me a complete player is a guy who makes everybody play better when he is playing alongside them like Jordan, Nash, AI is a scoring machine only.

i think iverson knows the situation when he was traded to denver. he acknowledges that it is Melo's team and he will be doing what he knows is best to help Denver win games (or championships). yes, he is still scoring in bunches but do you see his assists going up? i think he's averaging more than 7 assists since he joined the nuggets.
melo will return on their game against memphis and even the coaching staff is very exited on what will be the outcome of their situation.
im hoping they'll be contenders for the West, especially with the way JR Smith, Camby and Blake are playing.

I hope so too, because I hate to see them exit early in the playoffs with that very deep line-up.

AI is not bad in defense actually; he has a long reach in getting a steal or two. The question is, will he be able to play along with the leagues current top scorer Carmelo Anthony? Maybe if he could start passing the ball and create some plays, then the team would be stronger. The only problem is, C Anthony is serving 15 games suspension. lol

Allen Iverson would be a big help to the Denver Nuggets, from the past games I saw, Iverson's game seems to be maturing, he looks to pass the ball more. And by watching last night's game with Carmelo, I believe they would be a force in the West. Iverson, being the veteran that he is, will help Carmelo in making the Denver Nuggets potential contenders.

Yes..definitely..Nuggets will have so many options now where they will give the ball in terms of crunch time. It will create also a headache to other teams which player they will concentrate on defense. And will also ease the pressure on Carmelo Anthony in terms of scoring load.

AI and melo are two of the most potent scorers in the league. this is not the season for them. they still need time to build chemistry. next season, i'd expect the nuggets to jumpstart early. they could run, shoot and score like the suns and the good part is that they play better defense. a little offseason adjustments could make AI-melo tandem one of the deadliest in the NBA
