My answer "What was I thinking!?"
I was married by the time I was 19 and divorced when I was 22. It was a mistake that I did learn from. Though, I would probably never marry again lol.
What are your thoughts on marriage?

Hey :) The first time I got married, I turned 23 on my honeymoon (on a beach in Barbados with a steel band playing me "happy birthday" ... that was pretty cool LOL). We had dated for 6 years before getting married and we were together for another 12 before we separated and ultimately divorced. A lot of people said, "So I guess you'll never get married again." But I never really felt that. The divorce was horrendous and he dragged it out for two and a half years by moving away right in the middle of the proceedings. That was a real rough patch for me. However, when it was all said and done, I came to the realization that I divorced the GUY, but not the idea of being married. I didn't set out to find another husband or a "father for my kids," but I did meet a new guy that was pretty amazing :) After some time, it became clear to me that, if he was going to stay in my life and in the lives of my daughters, I really did want to get married again. It surprised even ME! LOL
Also, my mom was dying of cancer during all of this and she kept telling me that she worried that the girls and I would "be alone"... I was really happy that she was able to attend the wedding when I remarried. I could almost sense a peace settling in her.
As for the second marriage... well, it's "so far, so good"... LOL We're happy, he's proven himself to be a kickass step-dad and, although I learned in a very hard way that there are no absolutes in life, I feel great about the decision.
