Is this recent surge of comic book and superhero films good for film industry?

They may be good for business,ie: making cash at the box office, but you come to expect that they'll all be the same and most times they are with the few exceptions of sin city, and spiderman. I love all comic book films,but in the long run and grand scheme of things will they survive and continue to surprise?
