Why are so many people against interracial relationships?

I don't know what the big problem is. If two people live each other who is to say they can't be together. People need to stop being racist and look beyond color. There are more important things on the inside.

I am a white 43 year old married man.
I was raised in a racist household. Blacks were always called the n word regularly.
In my heart I know interracial relationships shouldn't matter. I have known and have been great friends with people of all races.
I have a young daughter. What would happen if she wants to date interracially? Hard to say at this point. I have been programmed to respond that whites are the best and all other races are inferior.
I know this line of thought is wrong but I can't help it. It's a f'ed up topic.

Unfortunately many people are still ignorant and close minded. I for one believe we are a mixed raced. No one is pure. Especially in America. We are the melting pot of the world. My parent s use to hate it when I was growing up and I dated out side our supposed race. I just told them if I say no I can't date you because your black, mexican, chinese or whatever it's like saying I can't date you because you have blue eyes, or brown hair. Color is only on the outside. We are all human.

First its is fear. People are brainwash to think they are the best race over the other. There is also pride and ego's floating around
