What's the cheapest, quickest meal to make that's delicious?

Help.. my boyfriend wants me to cook for him and I'm not good at cooking
Just to let you know how's my cooking style like, i know how to fry an egg and prepare those instant noodles
I'm more of a baker than a cook
HELP!!

Prepare mushroom if he is vegetarian else think of something which is non veg.
But mushroom is a good dish which could be prepared very easily

The easiest meals to make are made in a Crockpot (slow cooker). It's not the fastest way but it's easy. You just put the ingredients in and let it cook all day. I have a great recipe for pork roast in the slow cooker. You have to plan ahead though, which I rarely do. I have to alter recipes to suit my picky children and husband. LOL! I get some good recipes out of the Kraft books that I get in the mail, as well as allrecipes.com.
