Mine happened when I was 8 years old. My dad was living in Massachusetts and I flew out there to see him for Christmas Break. Believe it or not, I still believed in Santa Clause back then. My grandpa, who lived with my dad..."video taped" Santa Clause coming down the chimney and putting gifts under the tree. He even left a message for me on the tape telling me I was such a good girl that year. They even went so far as to put soot footprints on the floor around the fireplace. I know it sounds cheesy...but its seriously my favorite memory.

My favorite Christmas Memory was when I was 9. My parents owned a 'general store' Mom & Pop type business back in the 60's. We weren't rich by any means and had to struggle to make ends meet but every Christmas my parents always made sure we had at least 1 big present under the tree on Christmas Morning. That year, my dad started selling bicycles and there was one bright beautiful yellow and silver girls bike with a banana seat and yellow and white streamers hanging from the handlebars along with a yellow and white banana seat. I fell in love with that bike and used to sit on it each day, hoping and praying that no one would buy that beautiful bike. I prayed each night that Santa would bring me that bike and tried so hard to be the best little girl...well lo and behold on Christmas morning that gorgeous shiney bike was in my living room, to this day this story brings tears to my eyes and give me goose bumps to think that even though it was very expensive for my parents they still made sure I had my most cherished present ever!

That's great! I had a banana seat bike and boy, does that bring back some memories, eh? I used to cruise the neighborhood for HOURS on that bike! Mine had "spoke charms" that would clink up and down along the spokes as the wheels turned.

That's so sweet! My family always did a similar thing becuase each year we would choose one of our gifts that we had been given to take to a local group home as donations. Mom said it was important to give our best and not our junk. Those kind of lessons mean so much when you're a child don't they?

We always opened one gift the night before as well. But when we decorated the tree only Mom could do the lights. It was like her special thing. Now _I_ get to do the lights on my own Christmas tree!

I have say my favorite christmas was just a few years ago. I was going through a lot at the time. My car was broke down, and didnt have money to get it fixed. I was just barely able to buy my son any gifts. So we stayed home, I cooked christmas dinner with what I had in the house, which turned out great. We spent the day opening gifts, playing in the snow, watching movies and playing with his new toys. I will never forget it.

What a nice person your grandpa is! Actually, Chrismas is not a big festival like some traditional festivals in non-christian countries, but we also celebrate it, especially in school. I remember when that happened when I'm in my first year of high school. It snowed in that Christmas, which is rare in my county. We were all excited about the snow. What's more, the school hold a big party of christmas for us that day, which is only school christmas party in my memory. We all had a good day.

Oh wow! Without even thinking! It's Christmas Eve. Every year I spent Christmas Eve at my Grandparents. My grandfather would sit all wide eyes and mouthed open out of Awe I assume... Grandmother would be cooking and singing and the kids (that would be me at the time LOL) running to and fro trying to guess what our gifts were. We'd all (Aunts/Uncles/Cousins and Grandparents of course) would stand around and pray.. after eating we'd all go outside and my Uncle would fire off fireworks.. then we'd come in and the kids would open gifts!
My Grandfather passed away a year ago in November and this time of year I'm finding is bittersweet!

My favourite memory would have to be when I was about 8-9 years old just getting back from a family get-together on Christmas eve around 10 pm or later and my parents pretended like they heard Santa Clause's slay and I ran inside and fell asleep very quickly. Can't remember too many Chirstmas's but this was one of the best ones I had.

Every Christmas my mother and dad give each of us kids an ornament...usually something related to that year. If I was really into theatre that year I might get a drama mask ornament. Or mom makes them by hand. Or a horse the year I bought my horse.
When we moved out on our own we had this beautiful box of ornaments; some as simple as our three year old hand print with glitter on it, others as sentimental as the ceramic ornaments we picked up at Mount St. Helens on our big vacation. But they were our special ornaments.
Our tree the first years of marriage wouldn't be this poor barren thing full of cheap ornaments from Wal-mart, but rather a memory holder full of cherished family memories.
I love that! Every year it makes me smile to hang my personal ornaments on the tree.

Christmas always gets very good memories. For me it is that time of the year when I expect my friends and relatives to atleast call and wish me. Also a time to expect lot of greeting cards. My favourite Christmas memory is when I created the Christmas Crib for the first time in my life. I enjoyed the way I carefully selected the layout of all the characters in my crib. Unfortunately I never won a proze for it, but just the sense of making one was overwhelming.

I remember when I was about 4 years old, I was trying to stay up to catch Santa. My mom kept trying to get me to go to bed, but there was no way. Finally, she started calling me from the other room and told me to look out of the window. There was a little red dot in the distance, I was convinced it was Rudolfs nose, so thats when she said, you better go get in bed, because if your awake he wont come. I ran and got in bed, I guess her little plan, however she did it, worked.
