I only drink once or twice a week. But I consume a lot in that night and once I start drinking I cant stop until Im extremely drunk or flake out. This is the cause for all the one night stands Ive had as when sober I wouldnt dream of doing that.I dont feel like a drink the next day as Im usualy in bed with a very sore head.Does my behaviour on drink or the amount I consume in that night make me an alcoholic? I need advice from non alcoholics and alcoholics.

I think this is a problem a lot of people have- me included. I couldnt care less if I never had a drink again but if I am out and have a few I dont stop until I drop. I didnt even realise that this is a form of alcholism untill I read stop smoking guru Alan Carrs book "The easy way to stop drinking". I got it for my hubby who is a fairly heavy and very regular drinker and was surprised to see that there are more than one type and pattern of alcholism. Its an interesting book if you can get your hands on it.

alcohol - drinking
i dont drink...and i would never want to do it...i dont get it why people start drinking even if they know that its a slow poison and they would for sure die as a result of it but despite that they keep in increasing their daily doses.....

Drinking is good for your health sometimes. But drink in moderation. Anything that is too much is bad. Enjoy binge drinking.

Gosh.. ur so pretty.. tell me that's a joke? try to stop it, in a gradual manner. give it a shot. cause by stopping the addiction at an instance, you'll get nothin but the worst of every illness in the world. trust me..

i don't feel this is a problem, if this is only 1 or 2 nights a week it isn't a serious problem, imagine if this would be every night, that would be a problem

I don't drink anymore - I did all of my drinking before I was 21 lol but I think it is very big and mature of you to even recognize that you might have a problem. With this recognition you might have the inner strength to stop the excessive drinking on your own. You don't have to answer this - totally rhetorical question, but were you abused as a child sexually or physically by a man or did you not have a father figure in your life? You could be drinking to numb that pain and then you go out and find a guy to cling to because you crave the healthy male attention you never received - even though this is so not healthy and you know that. Does that make sense? It was just my first instinct when I read your story. You sound like your in a lot of pain. I hope you can get help or help yourself. I don't really mean AA either. Maybe you could start putting yourself into something you love like a better career or sign up for an activity you enjoy...anything to get your mind off of drinking. Hope you get better!

Definitely a binge drinker. If you're not alright like this which it sounds like you're not, then instead of examining your habits look at the results. You said you have a lot of one night stands when you're binge drinking, right? If you want to stop having these you need to be able to stop yourself. Use some self-control with your drinking. If you don't have enough self-control then maybe you should look at the places where this all happens. Perhaps you should go to these places less frequently or avoid them altogether. Maybe you need a hobby or sport of some sort to occupy your time so you won't get into these situations. Just suggestions. Hope some of this helps.

It is not difficult to leave drinking. You have to reach early to home and take your supper. After that involve yourself into any activity of your interest.Do not go out to friends who instigate you for drinking. Go early to bed. After few days you will not even remember the drinks.
