I presently homeschool and really enjoy it. The only issue I have is trying to find a good homeschooling curiculum for my children. Do any other homeschool parent knows of or use a good homeschool curriculum?

I have yet to find a curriculum that works well for me. I find that I'm eclectic, bordering on unschooling though. As such, buying the workbooks that you find at the dollar store or at places like Walmart is what we use mostly and we also do a lot of lapbooks and file folder games. This really works quite well for us. My daughter is actually at least a grade level ahead.

Where are you located? Most of my resources were Canadian but my gf homeschooled her kids here in NY....if you go to your districts school board webpage (assuming they have one) you should be able to find the curric for each grade which is a good place to start....How long have you been homeschooling for?

Christian Liberty Academy Satellite School - the homeschooling association we get our supplies from, very understanding and ever so helpful. So easy to work with and get things from. Great materials and colorful interesting topics
We have homeschooled for 15 yrs now through these people.... Christian Liberty Academy School System www.homeschools.org (847) 259-4444 They are a terrific system to be involved in, scannable tests, work books, teacher editions and help when you need it. They give out report cards and there is a graduation after 12th grade. Check them out and hopefully they will be for you!!

Thanks for the response and I think its great that theschool issue out report cards and give the kids a graduation. I wasn't looking really for anything based on religion, just the major academic courses. Thanks again for the response

There are a lot of curriculae out there. Do you want religious or secular? How old are your children? What are their strengths and weaknesses? There are many questions to be answered before one can decide on a curriculum.

No I dont want anything that is based too much on religion I think just the major academic courses will be fine. My children who I am trying to homeschool are 9 and 6 years old.

i homeschool my 2 young children, and let me tell you its a lesson within a lesson. i am a first timer, but i have been doing it now for almost 2 years. trying to find a curriculm that suits you is definantly a struggle. i utelize the library, and the internet as much as possible. there are websites like www.scholastic.com, tlsbooks.com, & www.lessonspage.com. there of course are alot more, but these are my major ones bc they are free...smiles. so from one homeschooler to another enjoy!!!
