I don't know what that poster meant by Koreans being hostile toward the military. I was station there and they were very nice and hospitable. They welcomed me into their homes and offered me dinner. They were very willing to help. I will go back some day.

I only visited south korea for two weeks. I didn't find the people as friendly as previous posters have said, unfortunately. I think my experience may have been biased, though, for several reasons... I was there with the US military (many koreans are opposed to the US military presence, for understandable reasons) and I came from an area of the world where people are incomparably hospitable.

I liked S. Korea, some people were nice and really funny while others were not as nice and tried to scam us. Though we are military.

I was there for 2 years. I loved it. The people are nice and
the shopping is great. There are lots of tours to different places in korea that you can visit.
