Do you agree that we're studying as requirement for future jobs?

I'm trying my best to finish my studies even if it gives me a hard time. Because of the diploma thing and they say that it is part of the requirement in having a stable and permanet job.
As of now, I'm on the flow of continuing it.
But there is the fear that when I graduate I might not find a good job, which is anybody's problem not only mine.
What do you think?

i dont know but i think its not upto the current market...its all bygones what we studied..there has to be some research work...so students know what goes in to get something out of it... then people will do hard work to know the basics of what they would be studying

people look at u diferently if u are a graduate. which i really think it's a shame. so many kids don't have access to universitary studies and yet they might have been forced to work from a very young age, so experience was their teacher.
on the other hand u finish u'r studies and try to find a job ... u'r required to have previous experience ... how? when u dedicated yourself to studies and exams. if u try to work while studying (my case also) u'll find a dumb teacher telling u ..."well my dear u can't have them all. it's either work or studies. choose"
i quit for a while, and now i plann to go back and finish what i started no matter what. even though now i'm pretty sure i'll never work in the field i will get my diploma.

we study and we evolve. its not justjobs we study for. we learn new things every day in practice. just because there is an institution and things are taught from books you call them studies.
the problem with others is if u r illiterate, a fool, a good for nothing guy, you are going to resort to illegal means when u'll need money and no one will give it to you.

Yeah I do. Most of the companies require job applicants to have a college degree. Sad fact. Most companies would hire a college graduate with no job experience over a person with no college degree but has an extensive job experience. Personally, I believe what we learn at school will help us for our future, but it is thru our experience in a job(s) that will help shape our future.

as for me, i did worry the same problem before back in college. and i did tried my very best to get my diploma, but as i got nearer the end of my college, i found out that i no longer wanted to build a career on the degree ive studied. i took bs computer science in college and right now im into communication, which is quite relevant but is two different worlds. and right im pretty much satisfied with my job, and this is the job that perfectly suits me. studying may well be a training ground but not necessarily the blueprint of what you'd become in the future, i believe it still all depends on how a person will respond on every challenge brought to him.. as for me, like you i did tried to finished college just to get a diploma. but as i got nearer the end of my college, i found out that i no longer wanted to build a career on what i studied at school. i ended up right now having a job that is somehow related to my degree. i studied bs computer science but right now im into communication, and i think this is the career that suits my personality, interacting with people. based on what happen to me, studying may be a training ground for your future job but not necessarily a blueprint of what you will be in the future. we need not to worry about not finding a good job in the future, it all depends on how you will respond to every challenge.

Not exactly, the problem lies in how we approach things. we think like we have been allowed to think by our circumstances or surroundings. we tend to take up lessons with job and money as our primary objective. the moment we make such a decision, we'll find studies to be a big pain and finding jobs an even bigger pain.
Thanks and good luck

Often you learn much more about life and yourself when studying for a degree, you reallt become "educated" during this period, its not just about the subjects you take and the information you acquire. Its an important time in your life and I would suggest studying as much and as far as you can. Keep on, and don't worry about a job, rather learn and experience as much as you can.

for my part, i studied to become a doctor so what i studied was really a requirement for my future job -- being a physician. you should try to finish your studies so that you'll have a diploma. yes, its hard to land a good job these days but at least u have a doploma to back u up. so go for it! god bless!

Yes it is. In the first place, it is one of the major requirenments upon acquiring jobs. If you do not have any knowledge regarding the job you are looking for, then what else you can do or what services can you provide to them. Diploma is one way that shows your competentness. Education is a step for the future. But it is not the only way to success.

I just believe that the diploma we get out of studying is merely a passport to the path we would like to take in landing a job we want. And the mere fact that this is a passport it doesn't necessarily mean that you would tied up to a job that is not good for you. It is an assesstment to yourself if is it the job that would give worth of the sacrifice would have made simply because you are happy with what you are doing.

I think one should make up his/her mind as soon as they pass thier high school as to what they wish to choose as thier profession and only study subjects related to it...Its no point wasting time on other studies and ending up realizing this pretty late.
