Valmiki thought of presenting his hero Rama as "maryaada purushottama", an exemplary person. "karuna nidhi" Treasure of courage. Dhrud`ha vrata: One who keeps promises.
Sage Valmiki himself was moved with pity when he found a hunter killing a male bird causing enormous grief to a female bird. He cursed the hunter. This is the spur for the Epic of Ramayana.
Rama promised to his mother Kausalya to live like a sage, abstaining from meat. Rama broke his promise and sent Lakshmana for hunting "krishna mruga" (spotless black deer) for burning the flesh.
Same Rama went for the golden deer at the request of Sita. It turned out to be a demon. Then he killed another deer, took its flesh and went back to his cottage to find Sita kidnapped by demon Ravana.
This Rama sends his pregnant wife to a desolate forest, without telling her that she is being abandoned.
Hindu priests have a tendency to twist facts in defence of Rama, because if people lose faith in Rama, nobody will come to temples.

You have successfully highlighted the groundreality of the facts which can not be denied at any cost.In spite of all these facts, Rama is great and his footprints are to be followed not only by Hindus but other community of the world.He has sacrificed his comfort of kingdom and gone to Banvas for fourteen years.Temples are a place of peace not for a particular dynasty.People from any religions came to the temples and have a peace of mind.What do you think?

There is a proverb in English - Some are born great, some achieve greatness and upon somebody greatness is thrown.Rama is really in first category.What do you think?

No work is there without any reason.Balmiki and Ravana are the reasons for creation of Ramayan.Lord Rama is the front runner and won the race leaving footprints for us to follow.

What r u talkin' about? Ramayan is a religious epic of Hindu. if u want to worship Ram its fine but this is not a jokes or bed time story.

Shri ram ji is the hero of Ramayan. The who story is based around him. The story begins witha stories about his birht and ends in Luv Kush of how he leaves the earth. Eeryone else in Ramayan is all about people Lord ram knew. And of course that how the name ramayan was givin. Kind of a silly questiuon to ask anyway.
The hero of ramayan is ram . hehe

Valmiki is the hero of Ramayan. He wrote the Great Epic with such vivid explanation, incorporating good against evil, great against mean, high against low, tall against short and through epic, moved our hearts to indulge doing good things in our life. Khudos to the greatest Valmiki.

I think shri Ram is main hero of Ramayan & other side heros are laxuman,hanuman,vibhishan & sugriv.but Shri Ram gives credit to all peoples who help him to win this battle with Rawan
