I personally feel that the book was unmatched even though the movie was a great one too..

Somehow, I din't find LOTR to be special or extraordinarily entertaining in anyway. Maybe, that's because I am not a big fan of this film genre.

the movie was better than the book in my opinion. the reason for this is that the book can become boring sometimes, but the movie just maintains it interest and really it is the movie that has propagated the book through the entire world.

actually i have not read the LOrd of the ring book but I watched the movie.
The movies are too great. Production values and all the charactors are just amazing.

I too loved both the books and the movies. Yes it is true that the movies didn't tell alot of the story, but if they had we would probably still be watching it, lol, for it would take a very long movie to include everything correctly.

Maybe you are right..but the book was brilliant,i guess you cant capture the descriptions of long scenes in a book at a glance in the movie.

I felt the book really bboring and laborious. Though i mostly prefer tp read books, lord of the rings was the exception. The bok is laborious with lots of details which are not needed.

I started reading the book but gave up somewhere in the middle. Im sure there was lots more stuff in the book that was not included in the movie. But yet in my opinion the movie was very well made. The visuals and sets were just awesome, the performances were truly amazinf and realistic. Usually movies dont match upto the books but incase there is just something different about seeing it all come alive in front of your eyes.

for me, it was the book, more detailed and plus you imagine you own characters on how they look like or how you picture them to be... I was able to read the book when I was only 9 years old, it was not the same as the movie and I have a wild imagination when I read... plus you will understand it more...

i feel that the movie is more better than the book...because the movie brings out the imagination of what every reader might have had after reading the book

I have read the second book in the series (fellowship of the ring) and watched the movie as well. I would have to say that the book is better because it went into such detail and it was a very enjoyable book. The movie was just as good, but it just didn't go into as much detail in some scenes. I understand that books and movies are way different, but the book was way better.
