Yeah, I'd say so.
And it's not just American Idol, either! If you look at all the reality//talent shows that have been on, like Popstars, and X factor too, you'll notice that very few of the winners actually last over like, a year.
So I think that means that Kelly's one of the most succesful ones, to still be popular now.

Lol, and another thing...
Why do all these producers and stuff decide to carry on doing these shows?
I mean, they were fun, like, the first 100 times, but now it's just getting too obscene.
I mean, they have a Japan Idol, for fu**'s sake!

I think Carrie Underwood has become much more popular than Kelly, and popular more quickly.

I think Kelly Clarkson is the best so far, followed closely by Carrie Underwood. Both are genuinely talented and had some promise of success before they got on the show. Personally, I think the next best is actually Chris Daughtry.

She is very hot and has a great voice and so far I think she is doing better than the other winners though Fantasia has done well for herself and I think Carrie Underwood will be better than all the previous winners. I think Taylor Hicks is the worst of the Idol winners up til now.

when you say kelly- you should be more specific now because there is also kellie pickler from season 5 who has just put out her first album. of course it is country and for anyone who is a country fan, it is really an awesome album. She has five songs she co-wrote and two of those are dedicated to her mom and grandma. She grew up without a mom and was raised by her grandparents, but her grandma passed away when she was in high school. yeah, i know buddy. i am one of kellie pickler fans, starting from idol 5 show. i must put 2 thumbs up for her for her strenghts grown up in that condition. I can't stand hearing her story. too moving me.

Kelly has a great voice and she does POP music, so of course she will sell so many records, but as far as longevity, I doubt it. I would say with Carrie being a country artist, she will do very well because country music fans are loyal. Country artists have tons of longevity and can most of the time stay around as long as they want.

Kelly have been the most popular all around the world, but in the US they other like Rubben, Fantasia, Clay have selled a lot of album and also won some award. They both released their second album.
But still, Kelly is my fav from all the season and after that comes Chris Daughtry

She is so the best of all the American Idol contestants.... her voice is sweet and pure, and just perfect. The only idol that could compare is Carrie Underwood... i have to stick up for the country gurls...

She is ok but to me even though he didn't win Chris Daughtry was the best that American idol has had.
