Purity baby vegeatables was available when my children were babies. I used to buy sometimes, especially if were going out for the day but they preferred home cooking. They loved the purity fruits though, and also the baby porridges available.

We prepared all their foods with only occasional use of prepackaged baby food. It was just as easy to make them a meal much like ours. The formula that generally works was a bit less than 1/3 meat and a bit more than 1/3 starch and then aroung 1/3 vegetable. This rule of thumb allowed us to vary it with what we had and were eating. We also put leftovers in ice cube trays and froze them to be used later or to take with us when visiting family. Prior knowledge let me prepare foods that we would eat at grandparents house. We be neat to see who else answers and what they say!!

I do a little of both. My son mostly eats what we are eating now, but occasionally I'll give him jar food. He never had a problem digesting it. My MIL told me that babies who eat jar food will have stomach problems, so at first I was skeptical but now I know whe is full of hooey!!
