Harry potter series has it all..its funny, its witty, its dark, its thrilling, its mysterious, it speaks about friendship, the reason why good should prevail over evil. JKR makes writing seem so easy and effortless. And the way the magical world seems so realistic, the way us 'muggles' can identify with the magical world happenings..i believe success of JKR and the series is mostly because of this.

The book transfers the reader into a total different world of imagination, which seems to be more real than the reality itself.

I like this series becoz i feel like I am with those kids Harry, Ron and hermoine.... I get the feel that I can go to such worlds and do different things... Then I do feel that good always wins in the world as per the movie.... which is actually not the reality :)

Yes, these books are well worth the attention they've received. What makes them successful is that you can read them more than once and get more out of them the second time round. Not only that, the whole seven stories are linked together in an increasingly complex way. What started out as a very well told story in the first book, has become a series that interconnects again and again. This is sometimes only apparent when you go back to an earlier story to re-read it. Rowling obviously planned the whole series well in advance (she has told us this) and obviously knew how things would go forward from day one. Apart from all that, the books are great page-turners - very hard to put down.

i think the reason why harry potter has become so successful is because it essentially contains that aspect of magic that is so appealing and captures the imagination of the reader. everyone wants to have that kind of magical gifts, powers and the ability to do things that are great. the book somewhere fulfills this very desire as the reader is taken to a whole new world. further the interplay of the good and the evil is something that has always worked in any plot.

I must admit I liked the first books in the series, they contained aalot of mystery, I did not appreciate the latest books in the series, as they have become too commercialised. Same with the movies that was made, the earlier Harry Potter stuff is full of that typical Harry Potter mystery and magic, and too some extent the latest movies or sequels have become too "real life" and also there is an element of evil whic does not appeal to me, personally.

It is a kind of dream. We all want to deal with things easier. In the book, Harry Potter can do so. There are so many things that we can do in the story, while in the real world we can not.

its a simple story, where the main character is not a perfect hero. Harry potter is a boy next door who got popular just because Voldemort got kill when try to kill him. but JK rowling is clevefr to put some conflicts in the stories, Harry Potter I think teach us about friendship, trustworthy, and other things that we rare to see nowadays
