Are my rabbits ok out in the cold?

It's getting really cold here now and my 2 rabbits are outside. What temperature will they be OK outside til or should I bring them into the house over winter?

Depends on how cold it's getting, but in general, rabbits are better adapted for cold than heat. They easily die of heat stroke. However, I'm all for bringing them inside! I have 2 house rabbits and they make wonderful pets. So much more interesting inside.

Rabbits - This was my sisters rabbit who she kept inside at times and outside at times.
I agree for bringing them inside for the winter because the temperatures can get too cold for any animal and I would feel safer keeping it inside during the winter.

Where I live (in New Hampshire) it can get very cold over night. So I try to do the best I can to keep him warm. I have a small house (just a wood box laid on it's side) and lots of hay in his cage. I also have plastic wrapped outside his cage to help to keep the wind from blowing into his cage.

I do not feel that any animal is completely safe in the winter time, no matter how much fur they have on them. I think it is safer to keep them inside during the winter to be on the safe side.

yes they should be ok outside in the cold. if you think about it they have very heavy furr coats that will keep then very warm. the colder it gets the heavier there furr will be to compisate the cold weather. if you are still worried then you can always build a little shulter for then. Keeping the wind off will keep them warmer.
