meeting people through the internet

internet is a tool, and it can be very powerful to make really good friends. but, you always have to be careful, because risks exist. it should be an alternative way to meet people, no the main way. virtuality is great because saves distances and cultural barrels but it never can't replace the reality. it should be a complement. about theft identity, money stealers and computer viruses, if you don't make your entire life around a computer, risks are smaller. take care.

yes, i made some friendships with using the internet. and it is a very good thin. usint the messengers this discussion thing and so an. but not onlu for that is a good thig the internet that we can make good friendship, it's is good for speaking with friends from child age. ohh and for a lot of thin: we can search everything on internet. with this great thing we never will be bored.

as far as i know i have met met online friends in the yahoo and many other sites got many friends but they are all online only dont even know really exists or not it is good that u have even drive to the friends u have met online.ya even i have met one or so friends who are really true but didnt seen them till now.so seeing them still remains a dream for me.

I have met some of my friends in the internet, internet is really making you more friends. with the use of chat and some other stuffs like friendster and mylot!

I've met a few people "IRL" that I've met online, and most of them are still my very good friends today. One of them is a best friend who lives in another province, but we lived in the same province when we met. We met on an online discussion board and discovered we lived only 45 minutes away from each other! We talked on the phone once or twice before meeting in person, and when we did, we got along like we'd been friends for years! She's such an amazing person, and I'm so privileged to have met her. :) ~Wyrdsister

i have met many friends through internet.. first i found them by e-pals web sites. now most of them have became very good close pals and we talk about everything. internet is a very usefull tool, if we use it correctly.

most of the friends that i have are from around my home town and i knew them befor adding them to my computer list but there is one that is a very good friend of mine. We met on the site called pogo.com and she lives down in indiana and i live in up state ny. My husband myself and 3 of my children decided that it was time to go on vacation and we just ended up on her door step for the 4th of july. It was great and we feel right in love with her and her kids. My kids didn't want to come home. They had so much fun down there that they wanted to stay.

i have lots of friends online but i have never met them but this is only because i dont have time the main resason i joined these sites was so i woud have people to talk to but they wouldnt be as demanding as my current friends are you know like having to book time with each other and then canceling as life always seems to be in the way and meeitng for lunch suddenly becomes the least important job of the month i try to always see my friends but all our lifes are just to full

there are lots of nice people on the net as much as the bad and opportunistic ones. so one should be very careful not to trust people immediately. i met almost all my boyfriends online. it was too good while it last. =) i meet some people who stayed good friends of mine thoughout these years..

I have never met anyone after meeting them online, I have talked to people I know online, but not the other way around. No particular reason for it, just never have.

ALL were in a very open place, during daylight, tons of people around, never without others knowing I'm going. Basically, done safely. I've met some great friends via the net. I've also met some real scags, but hey, that's in any part of life!

To be honest I was always skeptical of the net and see people as not really real. Since getting into counterstrike online game I've met many people online in real life. I like it as it breaks down the social barrier. There are lots of people whom I've met that I would not approach in life and vice versa. NET FTW!
