What do you people suggest I do for lower back pain? I really don't want to abuse opiate pain killers, even though they do work for me. I don't want to run out of them quickly. I want them to last as long as possible.

There was a time where I had such severe back pain that no
amount of pain medication would alieviate it. The chiropractor told me that this is because my spinal column was pinching the nerve and there are no blood vessels that go directly to there. Now, my condition was where the nerve sheath was crushed, and I had to visit the chiropractor every week for a whole year. For three to six months, I still continued to work, but I was limited to what I could do. When I was finally able to do more, I followed a regiment of exercises every morning to stretch the
muscles in my back. These exercises took around 10 to 15 minutes every day. In addition, I used a back brace during my working hours. Even today, I continue doing these exercises every morning and wear the back brace, mainly as a precautionary measure because I never want to be in such pain again.

I went to physical therapy and the therapist suggested doing exercises every day. They have helped a little bit, but I'm sure that the more I do them, the better I'll get.
