Yes my husband was stationed in Fischbach, Germany in the early 70's and we lived there for 26 months. We also traveled as much as we possibly could and one of our stops was Paris. We went to the Louvre, road the boat down the Seine River, the whole thing! My husband liked the Louvre, but I got a little spooked when we got into the part where they had the Egytian Tomb stuff, I don't like close places, and all I want to do is get out of that building and it took forever to find a way out! I was as sick as a dog by the time I found a way out! That is one long building!

No I haven't but I dream of going there one day.You are really lucky to have gone. One day I plan on me and my husband going. But I don't think I could spend one day there,I would probably have to spend three days there.I know you wanted to hear from people who have gone,I just felt the need to proclaim my envy. And I would actually really like to go to Germany too.It sounds like you are a lot better traveled than a lot of people around my small little town in the south.Next time you go take me too, okay:)

I've been to the Louvre three times in the course of my life, and still have yet to see the entirety of what the building has to offer! I'm not an avid art enthusiast and am not well-versed in various styles and artists, however I thoroughly enjoyed the museum. I particularly liked the Roman and Greek statue/sculpture section of the Louvre and the Egyptian artifacts (the Sphinx was incredible! I absolutely loved the museum, however I had a couple of mishaps/complaints. First, there aren't exits readily available, it took us forever to find a way out of the Louvre once we had finished! Secondly, it was so crowded and hot during the summer time, because it wasn't well-cooled. Thirdly, the Monalisa was overwhelmingly surrounded by other tourists, which made it very difficult for someone of short stature (myself) to see the painting up close and personal. Other than that, I recommend visiting the museum atleast once in your life, it's a true "must"!
