What's the best way to carry out a New Year's resolution?

Like almost everyone at this time of year, I start thinking about New Year's resolutions, which I make every year, but never seem to keep. Sound familiar? Do you have any special tricks for making sure your resolutions stick? Or do you think that New Year's resolutions are just pointless?

I don't usually make New Year's resolutions, but after looking at a photo taken at Christmas, I must resolve to lose some weight. I have just been eating foods with too many calories of late. I wish I know what would make a person stick to their resolve because I definitely need to stick to it. LOL

I think we all should focus on healthier eating...not just trying to lose weight, although that may happen too. Good luck with the new year.

I absolutely agree with you; some change is better than no change. I think it is better to attempt too much than underestimate yourself. Thanks for the great response.

or me, we don't need to wait for a new year to make resolutions. I for once, when i commit mistake or experience failure, I make it a resolution as part of my solution to never do or commit it again.

I don't make new year resolutions, I make my resolutions any time of the year and keep them as long as i can or as long I care to do so. I'm kind of chaotic person most of the time and hate schedules and rules so i don't over burden myself with new year's resolutions at all.

New years resolutions are made to give you something to work toward in the new year although you will find that people make them so that they can't be kept I made one this year and it is simply to have fun and enjoy life so I should be able to accomblish it.If you are going to make one at least make it reachable not something that you know cannot be reached.Good luck on your new years resolution.
