Music creats MAGIC & it is greatest peace on earth. Music soothes the mind. Music is the word of the soul. it can cheer u up or can make u sad. it can bring u to different places or feelings. love songs created by soul who is deeply in love and vice versa w/ the desperate soul. it is above all languages....and as u told, it is a language which is spoken by all people in the world

YES it is, have you ever heard about MUSICOTHERAPY? ai don't know if it works in here in the US but in my country it really do works. But just one person called Olombelo Ricky, a local traditional artist , knows how to make it , he's making you love music ( and every genre you listen to lol) as well the more you do this musicotherapy with him, i don't know nobody else doing this but him , for the moment. It helps you release your mind, change your perspective of things, and so on. He mmakes you feel much better, even his music, during his few cooncerts, is therapeutical, i mean after one concert you are in peace with yourself and with everybody; unfortunately this state of peace disappears after few weeks not hearing his music lol; i don't know if he's using some magical spells or that srt if thing but it works and that's all that matters.

No. Use pain killers like brufen... ? Before I answer this question, I like to think about, why this thread was created ? And what was the real motive for this question? When I find nothing wrong, immediately I prefer to answer. However I like questions on science and politics but don't ignore other members requests. I'm thankful to mylot for giving such opportunity to share our views with international members.

I don't think it does, I think it distracts us from the real pain, it's all really mental.

All pain signals are received by our consciousness in our brain. So surely the concept of music acting on our consciousness and distracting us from our pain feels like the pain is gone. I am talking about physical pain. It is unlikely that music could remove the source of physical pain, but in the end it is what we feel that is our reality. So I would say that in some cases music can and does alleviate pain. (depends on the pain, the person, the music, their training etc but it can work. Mythbusters would call it Plausible)

wel even read dat, some hospitals play soft music while operations are being peformed on patients, so dat it helps the surgeon`s relax and also helps the patients relax through the entire operation

Yes, I like listening to music when I am depressed and hurting. It doesn't take away the pain, but it helps in a way that seems indescribable.

I think music can offer a passage of escape. The mind can easily be ‘switched’ off while doing an activity, while I’m swimming or running I fall into periods where my mind is literally else where through thought and imagination which is easily granted through music. If it’s a particularly hard swim/run I don’t feel the strain of my body and settle into it much more easily.

not sure really i do know it relieves stress i get stressed out then turn on the music on my headphones cause i dont want to deal with anything anymore at the time and it helps briong me back to where my mind is cleared up somewhat for pain never paid attention really have bad arthritis but i guess if you direct your mind into something else other then your pain i would guess it would probably work to a certain extent i think with pain we just learn to adapt to it that way we dont notice it so much until it really acts up and says WOW.......then its definetly time for pain medication LOL!
