I have to leave for work at 2:30 every day. I turn on ch7 while I compute and eat breakfast and get ready for work. I have been into the ch7 soaps since my mother was alive. I remember watching Edge of Night and Loving with her too. She had already passed on before Port Charles was invented.

I have watched all these too for many years. It is amazing how they change over the years. And also how they stay the same. I am really surprised that Brooke is leaving AMC. I think the new Todd is very good. The new Marty seems ok so far. I was thrilled to see Ned the other day. My Mom used to tell me that Jake Martin was born the day after me. She watched it in the hospital while holding me.

I used to love watching General Hospital as a teen, but as an adult, I just do not get into them....

I use to watch Young and Restless, As the World Turns, Bold and the Beautiful and Guiding Light everyday. Now I just tune in once a month or so and catch up like that.

I grew up with my Mom & Grandma watching all the ABC soaps. The same ones you listed, but I really had no interest in them. It wasn't until Kelly Ripa came to Regis & Kelly that I started to watch All My Children because I loved her so much. Even after she left I just kept watching, just because. lol

How funny, I watch them too. I started with my Grandmother, watching with her when I was little. I always liked Laura on Gerneral Hospital when I was young because we were the same age...lol Now I really like if I miss one I can catch up on the Soap cable station.

When I was younger I use to watch One life to live, Days of our lives, and General hospital. But now the only show that I still watch is General Hospital. It is funny how you can stop watching the show then come back a couple of weeks later and in one show you are completely caught up on what happened while you were gone.
It also amazes me how long some of the actors and actresses have been playing there parts. I watched a little bit of the Daytime Emmy awards the other night. The Actress that plays Laura on General Hospital was nominated and won the award for best supporting actress. When she went up on stage she said she had been waiting 31 years for this award. Can you believe it? They said she has been playing the part of Laura since she was 14 years old. Wow! That is amazing.

southernpixie,
Funny you started this discussion because I am like you.
My grandma always watched "Her Story" is what she called it and it was "All my Children". She would fall alseep during it and I would watch one life to live. Then I would watch General Hospital and she would wake up and turn the t.v. off and say you should have shut it off. Well little did she know I was hooked on the others. LOL
I also used to watch Young and the Restless when it came on at 9 a.m in the morning here. But now all I watch is One Life to Live. I don't know what is going on on All my Children or General Hospital anymore. I see the some of the characters are still on there but that is about all I know.

As far back as I can remember I have watched All my children, One Life and General. My mom tapes General every day and watches on the weekends. My whole family (aunts and cousins) watch all of these soaps and when we have family partys we duscuss what is happening on the shows. it makes all of the males run the other way.. Although I haven't watched All my kids or one life in a while.. i still catch them on soapnet when i find there is nothing else on. I also sometimes watch Days of our lives on soapnet when i have nothing to watch..

I watch only one soap and it's One Life to Live. I've been watching since my early teens and now I'm almost 19 so. Before I started watching it, I was always like they so drama filled and their fake and stupid. :) But then my mom kind of dragged me into it because she was always talking about it like it was so interesting. So one day i watched it and I was like okay. The next day I watched it, I was hooked. I was like "I wonder what's gonna happen tomorrow." I haven't stopped watching it since. And I don't believe that there will be a day when I stop watching it.
