I am currently in the middle of winter and I am having a problem finding that energy to get into the exercising mood. I just keep on telling myself I'll do it tomorrow or later tonight, but it just feels like I have a writer's block with my exercise attitude. I'll to a few push-upss right when I get up or go to bed but nothing else. I know I can do it, I just don't. Does anyone have any advice for me. I think it's because exercising for me is more of a want then a need.

get a partner to go with you, or have a scheduled time every day that you go so it becomes part of a routine. you have to make it a need instead of a want. i went to the gym today for 90 minutes, and i really enjoyed it. think about how good you'll feel afterwards. bring stuff to do too, like music or books or magazines, so that you can multitask.

Exercise has played a major rule in my life, and yes, winter is an extremely difficult time for me to become motivated.
I just went through a period of not exercising(a few months) and now I am sorry that I did.
I mostly take a look at myself and think how I want to look by the spring or summer months. Thinking about that motivates me some, but I will just search the net looking for exercise videos that I think would be fun to workout to and order a few of those.
I also like to roll around on my exercise ball at night while watching TV. That way I am still watching my favorite programs and being active. The ball is not hard to workout on and you can do your own thing..and best of all it is quiet.

I too get that feeling not only in winter in other seasons also. But I think of the problems I am inviting by not doing exercises. Then I run for a brisk walk for 1 hour a day. Never be lethargic as far as exercises are concerned. Postpone a dinner but not exercises.

For me, exercise, you might say, is a way of everday life. You know, having livestock to tend to keeps you on your toes and that is an everyday thing. Winter, summer, fall, spring, it's all the same.
There is really no way to avoid exercising when you have to look out for other living things.
Maybe you should try this, I guarantee it will keep you busy every day.

I find that music really helps me get into the mood. Anything with a bit of pace to it otherwise you will fall asleep. Other than that, the friend option someone else mentioned is also a good idea. Its always nice to build up a sweat in the middle of winter. The beginning is the hardest but once you are in a routine it becomes easier... push through it
