hi,the time when we are studying about gods...the chance of interaction with females were less....they never came outside in to the society.....that may be the reason, but in indian senario..there were somany women gods[godess].

gods/goddesses - Gods and Goddesses card deck. I love the grraphics on this deck.
There are many God's and Goddesses out there and the reason why the main stream religons constitute God as male it because we live in a malecentric (violent)world. The male is the protector, provider, worker, hunter, gatherer, fighter, distroyer, etc... But the female holds all of the weaker traits of mother, lover, emotional provider, learning, advancer, giver of life, etc.... If you look at the religons you ask about, (Jedeo-Christian and Islam) you will see that their God is a God of power and might thus the atypical (strong) male. The other religons like Hinduism deal more with the soul (attma)and the enlightenment (disillusionment) thus no need for the strong (MALE) God as the focus is not on war but rather peace (Ghandi). I hope that I have answered your question for you as this is the reasoning that I believe it is like this. If I have misquoted something I appologize but I do not believe that I have. Have a great day and thank you for the great question!

no one can truely know what gender any god might be becuase no one has seen the almighty and no one ever will. If god showed themselves to us it would be a miracle in it's self i think maybe the reason for people refering to god as male could be because jesus christ was a man and supposed to be the son of god and as humans we associate that with parents where god could have actually been some kind of entity without gender no one knows and no one will ever know. interesting idea though for a discussion i like it
