and why do they have only four fingers? I guess it would not be politically correct to make them white, but anyway this has more connection with the color of first americans, though the Simpsons have nothing to do with them, but that's another story on being politically correct for no reason

Matt Groening said that by having them in a normal skin color the hair wouldn't look right so he chose yellow skin. I never really understood that, but hat's what he siad.

I really do not know. However, I guess it is supposed to make them look more like white people, even though ned flanders is white. That's just odd. Good job for finding that.
