Why Do You Like Someone?

I saw her, I talked to her, I was mesmerized with her and I wanted her to be mine forever. I saw him. I got smell of his body. I went in a trance. I was looking at his hair. He was looking so masculine. I want him forever to be mine.'
Why do you like some one? That person may not be great looking if you take a poll, but someone falls for him/her immediately. Why does this happen? What is the chemistry? Why do you find someone irresistible? What is the secret of that? Lot many love stories have been written around this love at first sight. The prince saw the princess and the princess saw the prince. Both fell in love with each other forever. This is what romance is made of. What is this and how does this happen?
You manage to lose your senses; your thinking ability and your head. Your heart overrules everything. You want that person. You try every way possible to meet and win over that person. You pass sleepless nights and pass days in a trance thinking of him/her. You are not able to live without that person for a moment. That single thought displaces every other thought. Life becomes oriented to a single goal - 'I want her/him.'
Lot has been written about romantic love. No one has reached any conclusion about how such love develops. There are different theories about it, but can love be ever defined in terms of chemicals? Ultimately what will science achieve by finding out about the how and why of such romantic love that is heavenly? The best thing if you fall in such love is to preserve it carefully. Under no circumstances, let anything happen to destroy it. It is very precious. Take care of it.

if u take my point of view..its just desire to have someone special in life and when a person finds someone whose ideology, hobbies, interests, views, and etc matches with his/her own then the interest kindles..it might develop into something as intense as love or it might just remain a favourable attitude..and as far losing ur senses is concerned I think it happens with very few people..the reason is everyone knows that there are better things in life other than just keep thinking about the partner...i know it would be the dominant thought but not the only thought..

The most intrigueing thing to attract someone is knowing they are unattainable. Or someone you feel inferior to. For what ever reason. Only because it is a challenge. Winning this challenge inside yourself can be very intoxicating. The further that person pulls away the closer you have to have them.

OUT APPEARANCE ARE DECEPTIVE. THE INSIDE OF THE PERSON IS ALL THAT COUNTS. I AM VERY FAIR AND MY HUSBAND IS OF A NEGRO COLOUR BUT STILL I LOVED HIM. IT WAS NOT HIS COLOUR THAT MATTERED BUT HIS NATURE, HIS BEHAVIOUR AND THAT WAS WHAT WHICH ATTRACTED ME IN HIM AND I HAVE REGRETS TILL TODAY THAT I GOT MARRIED TO HIM. TOUCH WOOD.

i think its a combination of many factors , chemistry , love at first sight , looks , the aura of the person , and that first look at glance.

One of the reasons to like/dislike someone is biologically logical. It's simply due to pheromones.
Now, of course there are many other factors.

well thomas, what about if you've never met this person officially? i mean, at what distance do pheremones stop being effective? and what about people falling for each other through the internet or by phone/mail? there are no pheremones involved (though by snail mail, pheremones can be transfered, i suppose).

It is hard to explain how love develops. I think to some extend it is to telepathy. Our unconscious mind send messages like an antena and when it finds the people with correct wave length love develops. I will explain it in another way. Sometimes at the first look we like someone and we doesn't like someone. After days ago we will find that the person we like behaves as we wanted and the person we don't like at first look tries to irritate us or throughout doesn't have good relation. I think it is something like chemistry. There are lots of things that cannot be explained in this world. One thing is love. Most times love develops at the first look itself. We have to trust our intitution and our mind and heart and to follow it. It will always show the right way. I think it is like sixth sense it knows what our mind wants and finds the right person for us whom we finds irrestible and loves like our princess in our kingdom.
