If you're like me and the thousands of other people looking to earn money online from the comfort of their own personal computer, then you have undboutedly thought about using online survey sites. Maybe you haven't tried it because you think they're a scam and they won't pay you, but there are plenty of them out there that definitely will and I'm living proof. I want you to have the same success I've had so I want to share with you the SEVEN reasons why you should take the initiative and try making extra money with online survey sites (without referral links).
1.) They're free. So many people online these days are so concerned with being scammed that they are extremely hesistant to try doing anything online where they can make money. The honest truth is that you can't get rich from doing online survey sites, but I do know people with lots of referrals that consistently make over $300 US dollars every month with online survey sites. If you don't have to invest any money like you would like you would with most other programs, what's the risk? That's right there is none.
2.) They hardly take any time at all. When I first started with online survey sites I was doing four at once and spent less than 30 minutes each day between the four of them and I was making money every day. That's counting the time I was spending helping out my referrals by sending them tips on what offers were the easiest and most profitable to complete.
3.) Referrals are easy to get. I have spent very little time trying to get referrals and I have well over a 100 and it all goes back to reason number one. Because it's free people are willing to sign up and at least try it, which leads me to my next reason.
4.) You can see the money go into your account almost instantly. It might not be very much at first, but it takes less than two or three minutes to earn that first 50 cents or so and that hooks a lot of people. With other kinds of online marketing, it may take days, weeks or even months to see that first check come in, but with online survey sites you can see the money going into your account right away, and checks will come consistently every month.
After that first check comes you can post it on your website or blog or just show it to your friends and they'll be convinced.
5.) Many of them offer a percent back for shopping. With everyone doing so much of their shopping online these days, it's really a great deal because you can shop through online survey sites and receive a certain percentage back of what you spent.
6.) You can meet other people that are also interested in making money online. Through online survey sites there are tons of people who are making that $100 a month that are looking to re-invest it or are looking to earn more money and if you're familiar with how to do that you can help them. You may meet someone that shows you other ways to earn an online income and the two of you may end up working together to earn thousands each month.
7.) Speaking of re-investing profits. It's always great to be able to sign up for a free program and earn some cash without investing the capital, but everyone knows you need money to make money. Well once you've earned some money with online survey sites that were free to sign up for you can re-invest that money into more valuable programs to earn even more money online. Or you can just spend it on whatever you desire, but the fact it's essentially, free, easy money so don't pass up the chance to snag some for yourself.
There are seven straightfoward reasons why you should stop hesitating and get started earning some extra online income through the use of online survey sites. It's FREE and EASY to get started and you'll start seeing profits immediately so stop reading this discussion and start making money.

Great Post,
I have done em all and lived to tell about it. I have published an e-book guide to surveys and I am happy to give it to you so you can have a concise description and setup for your referrals.
However, I am not in complete agreement that they are a great way for EveryBody to earn. That's why I am such a big fan of the site in my MyLot profile. Everyone makes money and there are not allot of hoops to jump through. It is free and I pick more contacts with this site than with anything else I have done online in the last 6 years

amit,
Please share with me what you think is 'nice' about it. Are you interested in joining online survey sites for a little extra cash or are you just psyched to see an actual discussion instead of a post like 'do you drink coke everyday - i know I do?'
Thanks for your input.

You write well, streak. I hope while I am on Christmas break to start picking up a little more at home. I occasionally get a paying survey, one or two dollars at a time. I just do not fit the demographics real often. The rest of the time I get"chances to win" and it requires 30 or so minutes of my time. I will not do that anymore. I am under the impression I can at least make a little online or at home. I need to make about $400 per month on the side in order not to take a second physical job. I will check out what you have listed.

Thank you for your comment on my writing. I rushed through that and didn't think it was all that great. LOL
What survey sites are you a part of and you should know that there are sites where you don't have to fit any demographic to fill out short surveys, sign up for free trials, etc and earn money.
I certianly wouldn't participate in the "chances to win" ones either as I would find that an incredible waste of time and about as likely as Publisher's Clearing House coming to my home.
$400 on the side isn't completely out of reach, but it would probably be tough just dealing with survey sites. Have you looked into other ways of earning income online?
Best of luck to you and have a great holiday season.

I joined a few of them but it seems as if I can only find the ones that offer you chances to win something instead of paying money. I do belong to one that gives you points and then you can redeem those points to get merchandise. I've gotten some nice things from there. If you want, you can send me some of your best sites and maybe I'll join some. I can't make promises and it may be a few days before I can take a look at them due to Christmas.

I didn't even think of MyPoints as I don't get a lot of surveys there, mostly visiting other websites. The one I was thinking of is Harris. Thanks. I will go check out the link.

I did those surveys when I was new online. Not one of them ever paid me. Which ones are paying you?

I've gotten paid for Lightspeed, Zoompanel, My Survey, and a couple others. With Zoompanel, it depends on the company sponsering the survey. They give points for prizes, but some of the sponsers will pay you as well.

It varies. If you use dial-up it would take longer. Most of them are done in about 20 minutes or less.

How time consuming is it? The ones I was in before (this has been over 3 years ago, so recalling company names isn't happening) seemed to take forever to fill out.
I have a lot of irons in the fire and wouldn't object to a couple more. I'll take a look at your link. Thank you for responding.

I wish that you would share with me what you tried because if you're trying the right ones there is no reason why you shouldn't succeed. You have made a pretty abstract post here and it's hard for me to gather much information. Which sites did you try? How did you go about it? Things like that are definitely important to take into consideration when working with these online survey sites. One I thing I will say - if you're joining the free ones (like I do) then at least there's no risk right? I guess the only thing you're losing is maybe a little time. Best of luck to you.

I am happy making my 10 dollars every month or so, with mysurvey.com. They are no fail, once you make 1000 points you can cash in for a check. They don't send you any survey that you don't qualify for either. When you fill out your profile they only send according to it. If I were younger I could probably make much more than I do, but there are a lot of surveys out there that I just don't fit the criteria for.
With mysurvey, it takes no time at all for the points to get to 1000, they start out with 10 points in a survey, and if you want you can continue on with the survey to make more points. I have gotten over 600 points with just one survey.

Okay so what company do belong to? Just kidden. I already belong to alot of them. The problem is I dont think they give out enough surveys. There is no way I make even $100 a month from these survey companies. I cant get any refferals because nobody wants to be bothered with doing that. They have jobs and a very full life. So they have the time.

Terry,
Are you talking about the survey companies you have to pay for or the ones that you can sign up for free? The ones that you have to pay for probably pay significantly better especially because you can get over $100 just for taking part in hour long focus groups. I do mostly the free ones though and they have MORE THAN ENOUGH surveys to keep you busy. Sometimes that pertains only to US/Canada users though. As far as referrals go, there are plenty of work at home mom's and college kids that don't mind earnings a few extra bucks here and there, which is why I have over one hundred referrals. You just have to know how to appeal to what people want.

Hey Bruj. If you're going to so blatantly post your link why don't you tell us a little bit about your site. Have you registered for all of those survey sites on your page? Have you actually paid all that money or are you just an affiliate trying to earn commission for getting people to sign up? Tell us a little bit more rather than just plugging your link into the thread.

Many of you are users from India and most of the programs I use are predominantly useful for US/Canada based citizens. If I knew of one that benefitted Indian users, trust me I'd be signing up because there's tons of interest from that area; however, I haven't found anything conducive to that of yet.
You CAN check out my blog though at:

And that MIGHT give you some tips and insights into something that might be beneficial to you.

I thought I would try a survey. I was trying for the $200 gift certificate from Best Buy. I followed their instructions and the survey just went on and on. I had to join at least 2 trials I think and so I did and I cancelled but they both charged my credit card for 2 months. I got scammed big time by Stamps.com and Homeworks. After many phone calls and emails I still didn't get my money back. I feel so stupid. I should have known better.

I'm curious as to how you got scammed by Stamps.com Stamps.com has paid me TWICE on seperate occasions. I think I got $8 dollars one time and $15 dollars another time to try their service. I really enjoyed it and even kept it around for a month, not to mention they gave me free postage.
It's important that people read the TOS (terms of service) when they're completing offers. Some of them can charge you, but I'm very careful and haven't gotten in over my head. On one occasion I was charged by AOL when I shouldn't have been and they're kind of a hassle to talk to, but they reimbursed me within 72 hours and I haven't had any problems since.

I signed up for their trial and I cancelled the next day I think I had 2 weeks to cancel and they charged me anyway. I sent emails and called several times before receiving an answer stating that they did show me as cancelled and were going to credit my account. They didn't credit me the next month, they charged me again. I repeated the call - email process and was told that they would credit my account. The didn't charge me again but they didn't credit my money either. I never received anything in the mail as I was told I would anyway. I guess because I cancelled the next day. As I said earlier all I wanted was the $200 Best Buy gift cert. I really didn't want to join any thing and that is why I cancelled the next day. I guess I could have fought with them but I really didn't have the time or patience. I just call it a lesson learned.

It is hard for me to beleive that the survey sites pay handsomely. I am not sure about those who take money for signing up. How can we beleive that they are genuine? If we sign up for 10-20 free sites and get enough survey invitation and get about 100-150$, that is fine. But until I get my first payout, I will keep my fingers crossed.

You don't need to sign up for that many sites. Many of them have overlapping offers. I would suggest signing up for only two or three. That way if an offer doesn't get approved on one site you could try it on another, but for the most part I would just go with one site. I predominantly use Treasure Trooper and it has been beneficial to me. I'm into all sorts of stuff these days - including creating my own products, blogging for cash, article marketing, etc... but my roots go back to Treasure Trooper where I would make up to $200 a month.

Thank you for doing such an informative post. I'm quite new to earn online sites. And I usually try to join the free one. I have join some but I have always doubts about them. And it is good to know that you've quite an expert on the subjects. Maybe you have good suggestions of sites, especially those open for the Philippines that I may join. Feel free to Pm me. And I'm looking forward to your advices. Thanks! Have a nice day!(^^,)

To be honest with you most of the sites I use are primarily for U.S. users only and I wish that wasn't the case, but so it goes. If you enjoy writing you might look into Associated Content though. I really enjoy writing and you can submit articles to them and they'll pay you anywhere from $3 to $20 dollars for your articles... though $5 is probably the average offer. Hit me up if you might be interested and I'll send you a link. If not, best of luck finding something that will suit you in the Phillipines. I wish I knew more about sites that worked overseas... I would have a lot more referrals!

I guess the biggest reason I don't do survey sites if the fact that I haven't really found any that pay per survey. I really hate using even a few minutes to a gain a 1 in 30k chance for a few hundred bucks. Plus well I'm kind to new to the whole make money online thing.
But after reading this it has certainly motivated me to go hunting for some! It seems kind of silly fearing waisting a few hours of time when I would have probably just spent it watching TV.

I try to just spend 15-20 minutes each day to check my primary accout (Treasure Trooper) and do 3-4 free surveys and one survey where you have to provide credit card information (usually around $8-$10 profit) each day. Then at the end of each week I'll try to send out a message to my referrals, telling them which sites work the best.

That's awesome for you. I never said survey sites were for everyone. I think it's important for everyone to find their niche of what they're happy doing and if they can make a career out of it then BIG kudos to them. A lot of people have discussed Associated Content of late and a few in this discussion and I haven't really invested much time in checking it out, but I'm definitely planning on it now. Thanks for your response and best of luck to you with the freelance writing.

There are TONS of people out there like you and I personally think skepticism is a good thing and keeps us from getting in over our heads, but I also think once you've seen the proof that something pays, and once you've established that you have the tools to succeed, then it's time to take a risk and try and earn some money... If it's free to sign up then what do you have to lose, right?

There are several survey sites coming up on the internet!
One cannot be really sure as to after joining these sites one can earn good amount of money!
Even I tried to earn money on internet using these sites but the response was not good because a survey approx takes round about 45 minutes and the payout for one single survey is also too low.
If there is anyother site please let me know, but still we really cant depend on these types of sites to earn a good sum of money!

Again,
A lot of the people not being able to find a good survey site are from India and all I can tell you is that most of the sites I use and discuss are primarily for citizens of US and Canada.
If you are from India you can join and should get paid, but you can't complete many offers. You have to rely on getting lots of referrals which I have found to be relatively easy if you are polite to people and discuss things honestly with them. Everyone is looking to earn an extra buck here and there and when they see it works for them, they keep coming back for more. Take care.
