Beating up a Buglar

OK...whos in the right?......A guy breaks into your house to rob you, hurt you or potentially kill you......you wake up and see him and then you beat the crap outta him. Then he sues you for beating him up...and wins!....How does the world let this happen?...You cant even defend youe own home and family anymore.......jail or not...I'd do the same...beat him down!

Sounds like it would have been better to kill the intruder and claim it kill or be killed. Wow! I can't believe that person sued and won it! They should have no right to sue if they were in the wrong to begin with!!! Where is the real justice in that?

real justice doesnt really exist anymore...not old west justice which is what we need more of these days...come in to my ranch pardner...your backside gonna meet the buisness end of my buckshot!...lol

Yeah, old west justice was awesome. I wish it was still that way, but it wouldn't work with all the new weapons and technology. I heard that if someone is attacking you, you can shoot 1 bullet in self defense. A second bullet would be considered attempted murder, so you better aim that first shot well. What a stupid justice system we have now.

Oh that burglar would be very fortunate with you. Here, we have the right to shoot an intruder....just be sure he's all the way in before you blow him away. Home burglaries here seem to have tapered off since that law as enacted. A burglar here would WELCOME a beating....LOL

Thats the way it shold b...your suppose to b safe in your house...how can u be when they wont let you protect it...by blowing a 12 inch hole through a guys torso...lol

That's stupid! I'm going to defend myself in whatever way possible in whatever situation possible if I think I'm going to be hurt. The same goes when I think someone else is going to be hurt, too.
I would appeal that case if I was the defendant.

Locally I know you're protected as long as the robber is inside your home. I had a cop tell me once, if you shoot someone coming in your window, pull his butt in through the window, then it's legal! So I guess it depends on local laws then. But at least here you're safe to beat or even kill them once they've intruded.

What?! that could posibly not happen! in the first place that person does not have the business of being there. you probably should kill the burglar instead.. its called self defense!

I heard about this I also heard on the radio where someone broke into a person's house and was beat up by a baseball bat and then he sued. He acutally one $20,000. Most of it was covered by insurance but this is ridiculas. This is not right and the law needs to be changed. If someone enters my house be prepared to meet my friend Louie (Louisville Slugger).
